Select a specific outbreak that has occurred within the last 50 years that included human to human transmission that crossed at least one international border. I am writing about the Ebola outbreak of 2013-2015 that started in Africa in Guinea in December of 2013 and spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone before finally arriving the United States in September of 2014. B. Description of a chosen specific international outbreak Ebola is a virus that causes severe bleeding, organ failure, and can lead to death. The Ebola outbreak of 2014 started in Liberia and wound up in the United States when a man traveled from Monrovia, Liberia on September 19, 2014, and traveled to Dallas, TX arriving on September 20, 2014. This man was diagnosed with Ebola on September 30, 2014 after first becoming symptomatic on September 24, 2014[CITATION AMa20 \l 1033 ]. The outbreak is believed to have been started from a bat to a 1 or 2-year-old boy in Guinea in December on 2013. By March 25, 2014 the virus had spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone [CITATION Wes20 \l 1033 ]. B1. Epidemiological Determinants and Risk Factors The epidemiological determinants and risk factors for Ebola are varied.
