The American Chapter of The Red Cross was founded in Washington, DC, in 1881 by Clara Barton after returning from a visit to Geneva, Switzerland, in 1869 (American Red Cross,2020) and has been a leading organization in supporting public health for one-hundred thirty-nine years. Also, The American Red Cross is one of the most prominent nongovernment organizations holding to its principals for protecting health, life, and respecting all ethnic cultures. At the same time, they continually remain neutral during any controversy and hostile events. Our communities are protected by public health professionals who take on the responsibility of preventing health problems and or keeping health problems from reoccurring within the community. Through education, policies, and research, public health professionals can accomplish this task. Some fundamental principles are used in this public health organization, such as reducing inequalities, promotion of health, disease prevention, societal cooperation, the participation of the community, and international collaboration (Masic, 2018, p.2).American Red Cross Mission and Vision Contribution

The American Red Cross mission statement “The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.” (American Red Cross, 2020). As a humanitarian organization, the American Red Cross makes every effort to present in the time of need. The organization’s five instrumental services are the critical foundation of its services such as disaster relief, support formilitary enlisted and their families, blood donation collection and distribution, education , health and safety training, and international aid and advancement (American Red Cross 2020)
